Our back yard has about a foot of water. The rain guage totaled about 1 1/2 inches out of this storm.

LAWN & More DISH

The lawn is planted and the sprinklers are working!

Reply from DISH:

Dear Mr. Adams,
Thank you for your email. We apologize for the inconvenience it has caused you. We understand your frustration and we greatly appreciate your business with us. Please be informed that your 921 receiver is not obsolete as it is still capable of receiving our previous HD programming. However, it is true that an MPEG HD receiver is needed to receive the new DISH HD programming. We are sorry that you were not informed regarding this matter as we don’t have yet this information during the time you have purchased the 921 receiver. However, we frequently change our promotion and once we have a better promotion for existing customer like you, we will announce it right away through our website www.dishnetwork.com.

My reply to DISH:

Thank you for your reply. I live in an area where I can't receive my local TV station on air, so I was very excited when Dish started to broadcast my locals (Salt Lake) in HD. You can see why I was disappointed when I learned the 921 can't receive the Locals in HD. Is there a way you can correct this? If there is, I would be satisfied with what I can receive with my 921. When the 921 can only receive six HD stations with no possibility of expansion and the new unit can receive 21, the 921 IS OBSOLETE! I would suggest that you make a trade with the 921 customers for the new technology, the same as you did with the new Dish 500 and the Super Dish in the Boise area. At least give more of a kickback to the first customers that purchased the 921 at a higher cost and helped you with the early de-bugging of the 921. You could do this using early serial numbers to verify the first units. I hope you will consider your existing customer base. Without us you would not have the success you now enjoy. I have a feeling the HD market is going to heat up and you will need us. I have been VERY satisfied with the Dish product, but very disappointed with how you treat your existing customers. I have been Dish Club member and have sold six customers for you. Out of the six only one is still with you. Most have left because they have felt they were treated differently than new customers. Hope you can help me out with my problem.

Final DISH reply:

Dear Mr. Adams,
Thank you for your reply. We can see how you feel with regard to our HD promotion. We will forward your concern to the appropriate personnel for further consideration on this matter. As mentioned our previous email, we frequently change our promotion. Please check back with us in the future for the HD equipment upgrade.
If you have any further questions or concerns, you may call our Customer Service Department number at 1-800-333-3474 or reply to this email.
Sincerely,
Joel M.

RAIN

It has been Raining for the last four days.

Work has stopped outside for now, so I had time to vent my frustrations out on Dish Network. I E-Mailed the following to Dish:

Tracy, remember me, Richard Adams of Toquerville , Utah. I feel I have been Rooked by Dish! I purchased one of the first 921 DVR's from you for $1000. I understand that the cost went down. That's OK, but it's not OK when they up grade their system so I can't receive all the HD programming with my 921. Now my 921 is Obsolete just when it is finally operating correctly! It sounds like they will give me $200 for my $1000 921 and make me pay for and rent the 942, NOT A GOOD DEAL. Should I go with DirecTV and tell dish to jump? What should I do? Do you have any suggestions?

As you can see not only did the Mickey Mouse Rock man take me to the cleaners, Dish Network is trying to also!!
