OLD TIME RADIOS!

Last year about this same time, I had just had great successs restoring my Dad's 1934 Grunow radio and was excided to get to the next two OLD RADIOS I had gotten from Houston, Texas. I restored the cabinets, but could not get the Radios to work! I got very frustrated. I had done the same thing to them as I did to my Dad's radio. After spending many hours and replacing a lot of parts, I took them to an old radio repairman I knew, who lived in St. George. He had them for three months and gave up.
MY HOBBY WAS FINISHED!

I decided to find out what made old radios tick, so I started to buy some old radio manuals. For the next four months I tryed to educate myself about how old tube type radios work and how to repair them. Kind of hard for a 70 year old! After buying the test equipment I needed and having Karen telling me that I could not purchase any more radios, until I get at least one more working, I started to work on the one that had been sitting on my bench for the past year. In two weeks I had it running, with my new gained knowledge and equipment! Yes, it was the one the old repairman could not fix!
HOW SWEET IT IS!!

Heather comissioned me to retore and repair her Mother and Dad's old 1929 Majestic radio for a Christmas present!

It was in pretty bad shape and not working! I have now completed the Restoration and Repair and I am very pleased with the out come!!

It purrs like a kitten

We are going to Portland next week to look for more OLD TIME RADIOS!
