HOME

Home at last! We were greeted with our Christmas present we ordered before we went to NY, Arnold Freiburg's, Peace Be Still. If Charles can have Christmas early, I can too! We wanted this painting because, both Karen and I have connections with Arnold Freiburg. Karen's grandmother in the 70's helped Freiburg's wife when she was ill. It would seem from Karen's grandmother's history, she was very dependant on Karen's Grandmother. My connection happened when I was 17. I and Kent Parkin, a High School buddy, knew Arnold Freiburg's Daughter from a Dance club we were in. Arnold was very proctective of his daughter and would watch her every move. One afternoon, she snuck away from her home and Kent and I picked here up from her lane. After driving around for a couple of hours in Kent's old Studabaker, we took her back to her lane. We were met by a very mad Arnold Freiburg. He literaly dragged all three of us out of the car and up the lane to his house, he is a big man. He put Kent and I in his studio and told us to say put and took his daughter to the house to deal with her. After about a half hour he returned to two very scared boys. By then he had calmed down a little and started to tell us about his paintings. He showed us all his paintings and told us the history of each one. He told us he was inspired how Jesus Christ looked when he painted him. He had just finished the paintings for the Ten Commandments movie. All the scenes and costumes were painted by him before the movie was filmed. He told us that Cecil D. Demill, the producer received many religious ideas from President David O. Mckay for the movie. The laying on of hands passing the Priestood from Moses to Aaron came from President David O. Mckay. After a very scary start it ended in a very inspiring and unforgettable evening!

LOOK! MORE DONE ON THE POOL!

I get first dibs on it when you expire (unless it is already spoken for). Very nice.
